The former Barcelona
playmaker is adamant that his fellow Brazilian will be a big success in
Catalunya following his €57 million move from Santos
Former Barcelona star Rivaldo believes that Neymar will
become the best players in the world during his time at Camp Nou.
The 21-year-old sealed a €57 million move to Spain from Santos earlier
this summer and his fellow Brazilian believes he will be a big hit in La Liga.
‘Barcelona have secured one of the best signings of recent times. Not
only because he is already one of the best in the world, alongside Messi, but
also will continue to dominate for the coming years,” he toldSport.
“Just watch now, he is so young and is making a difference on a global level. Imagine what he can do in the coming seasons.
“Neymar will leave Barca fans speechless. He could become an even better player than he was during the Confederations Cup with Brazil. He’ll easily adapt to the style of the team, and will be very happy there.”
Rivaldo went on to say that Neymar will be able to handle the pressure that comes with representing the club.
“He is a very mature young man and is used to being the centre of attention. The only pressure that arrives at Barca is when the titles do not come, but this is responsibility of all players, not just one,” he continued.
“I remember when he was a younger player, and said in an interview that he was a supporter of Palmeiras, and that his idol was Rivaldo. It was an honour!
“Today, he is a spectacular player with courage and possesses extraordinary technical abilities. If we take into account the fact that he scores a lot of goal, then we are witnessing an exceptional player."
